On 30/10/2016 I am to set up a Art stall at The Beehive Market Sun 12 PM · The Hood · Preston, VIC.
I plan on selling various digital art, a few original pieces as well as cards/post cards. We will see how it goes. Well after months of procrastination, I finally edited the website. Mainly I removed 'Broken' from the main page and gave it it's own page. Added photography section to 'robs gallery'. Other than that mainly little tweeks, like added a photo for me and luke, edited the text in a few area's. Put the comment/question/commission form on the title page.
If anyone has suggestions they would be much appreciated. To my dismay i recently discovered that the backup of all my project data, except for the broken project files, have been lost. That includes all the project files for every image below. This is more than frustrating, it has set me back in more ways than i can think of.
I have done all I can to check all my back ups, but to no avail. The only positive thing I gained from all my searching was a copy of a project I thought lost forever. I guess all I can do is try and move forward but this is hard. For example I have been planning to make a business card for Silent Image, as it is high time I started recruited some interest in the group. I had planned the business card was based on title image this website uses, but without the project files that is more work that worthwhile (as I would need to create the image from scratch). Instead I have downloaded another image I lost all the project work from and have managed to adjust it enough to look original. I will upload my efforts for the business cards shortly. Listening to Die Antwoord the other night and randomly took a screenshot from an unauthorised youtube video - which I then proceeded to photoshop. This was done with no intention in mind, the resulting image has ended up as my current desktop.
There has been a bit done for the 'broken' prelude I have most recently been working on.. More than I feel like typing up ATM.... I'll just post a picture - cause I don't think anyone reads this anyway. It's by no means finished but I think its a OK starting point for what most likely will be the first page (added characters, text, lighting, etc).
I was a little lazy and used the same card for both their birthdays.
Could not come up with imagery I was happy with for this one so I did the poem instead - just with I had spent more time refining it. The timing and words don't flow as well as they should have, But My mother seemed happy with it - still waiting to see what my brother thinks - he has been on holiday. Hope it's not to hard to read.... if requested I can reproduce the text. In case anyone cares - the picture on the cover is my brother and me when we were very young, .... Sigh ... now it's almost mothers day and I got another one or two cards to make for my mother and grandmother. Broken is on kinda of Hold atm - whilst Im working on (working title) 'nothing interesting ever happens to me". A short story about a young ignorant boy 'Leto" who cant see the world infront of him is full of adventure. This short will only be 5-10 pages. It will be used as a proof of concept for the rest of BROKEN. Using a much simpler art style.
Not sure on time frame for this one as Im intentionally working without a script (not to mention the other elements I will be testing. Seem;s I have the motivation to update my sketchbook with recent work I felt obliged to to something similat to this blog - all be it in a much abbreviated form. In case you missed the obvious - the card I made for xmas. I know not very christmassy - well NOR am I - so suck it up princess! I assume it was recieved well - although no one actually said much about it to me. So I guess that assumption is just self gratification. The Xmas card re purposed for chris's birthday. I have to say I am MUCH happier with this version. I guess most wont notice the difference - but to me they make all the difference. Can't remember the purpose for this card.
It turned out OK. This is the original final - that as can be seen turned out disgusting. Way to much clutter, etc... This one worked out the best - although it printed badly. My only issue with it is it is to jagged between the b/g images. This is the first layout and in many ways worked out.
This is the second one, I'm not really happy with it, but it was fun to make. The biggest problem was not having decent source images to work with.
I just created the above animated giff of my nephew A.J. (when he was younger). Originally I had panned to make a single image of him with Mr. Tickle (if any of you remember the Mr. Men books). As I was perusing my reference imagery I found some old photo's of A.J. and decided to make this test as a precursor to making him a Mr. Tickle version. As he lives on the other side of the world from me I was hoping to upload the finished product to Facebook, but it seems animated giffs have been restricted.
What started as nothing more than a normal web surf, turned into the creation of this site. It is obviously not complete, but I must admit it was more fun to create than I thought it would be. I was disappointed to discover that much of my artwork I would have like to have posted is no where to be found. I suppose I will just have to create more!
